Every year, a significant number of individuals from around the world choose to relocate to Australia through a Permanent Residency (PR) visa. This visa offers the opportunity to reside and work within Australia for a span of five years. After three years of residing in the country, the option to apply for permanent citizenship becomes available.

To qualify for one of these visas, two main prerequisites need to be met: earning a minimum of 65 points and having an occupation listed on the Skilled Occupations List.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for PR, you must accumulate PR points, which are applicable for the following three visa subclasses:

➤ Age (25-33 years): 30 points

➤ English proficiency (8 bands): 20 points

➤ Work Experience outside Australia (8-10 years): 15 points

➤ Work Experience in Australia (8-10 years): 20 points

➤ Education (outside Australia) – Doctorate degree: 20 points

➤ Doctorate or master’s degree by research in Australia or similar skilled degrees: 10 points

➤ Study in a regional area: 5 points

➤ Proficient in a community language: 5 points

➤ Completion of a professional year in an Australian skilled program: 5 points

➤ State sponsorship (190 visa): 5 points

➤ Skillful spouse (Meeting Age, Skills & English language criteria): 10 points

➤ Spouse or de facto partner with competent English (Skills requirement and age factor exempted): 5 points

➤ Applicants without a spouse or de facto partner or cases where a spouse is an Australian citizen or PR holder: 10 points
